Carpathian - 2010 Wanderlust

Band : Carpathian
Album : Wanderlust
Release Year : 2010
Genre : Hardcore

Tracklist:
1. Wanderlust
2. Ironheart
3. Monochorme
4. Shadowplay

According to Deathwish’s website this is the bands darkest affair to date, while jarringly true it isn’t quite enough to requisite this as anything worth fapping about; mostly due to the fact that Carpathian are still trying to better other bands’ sound. Sure they’ve learned to become heavy, finally, but this notion seems to come at a cost since they appear only interested in how low their A# chords can go. Essentially this flusters every experience to sound identical which is a shame since had they been able to manage diversifying their sound a couple of the song would be worth the hype. The intro to the title track raises eyebrows, to the point where the rest of the song is worth paying attention to, but once someone notice that they continue the tread the entire fifteen minutes disappointment sets in.

Carpathian have been an indestructible force on unstable ground. Hampered by incessant line-up changes, they've nonetheless managed to assert their dominance in the Australian hardcore pack. Releasing their debut EP through Washed Up label in 2005, they were signed to Australian label Resist, who issued the acclaimed full-length album "Nothing to Lose" the following year.
Isolation is the second studio album by Australian hardcore punk band Carpathian. The album peaked at No. 19 on the Australian ARIA Charts. The song 'Permanent' borrows lyrics from 'Something Must Break' by Joy Division, and the album/title track and 'Ceremony' also share their names with Joy Division songs. The album is packaged in a Jakebox. It received number 1 in the ShortFastLoud top 40 countdown of the year on triple J.
