This is not hardcore as you know it. This isn’t just a quick drumbeat, thrashing guitars and indistinguishable vocals. Mary Jane Kelly step outside the borders of traditional hardcore to create something entirely different. Mixing a brew of spastic riffing, jarring time changes and the chanting growls of Justin Bartignon, somehow Mary Jane Kelly deliver some of the most melodic, catchy tracks in hardcore, metalcore, and whichever other genre you choose to pigeonhole them into.

Mary Jane Kelly have a lot to offer, Like There’s No Tomorrow being undeniable proof of that. They bring a fresh sound to the Australian scene; something it has been in dire need of. There’s no mistaking the intentions of a track that starts with the phrase, “Jesus fucking Christ”, and “Folding Seas And Lonely Deaths” most definitely delivers on its intense opening. Melodic guitars collide with break neck beats on “Worthwhile Overdose”, while the EP’s title track demonstrates the diversity in Mary Jane Kelly’s songwriting, which just leaves “I Stabbed God In The Back” to see out this fantastic debut release.

Mary Jane Kelly are a hardcore band out of Wollongong, Australia.
This band has never been about, and never will be about egotistical biographies outlining how “they transcend genres in a never-ending journey on this tumultuous road to stardom”. When it comes down to it, they are just 4 best friends hanging out.
Mary Jane Kelly have released two E.P’s to this date, the first one released was Marionettes in 2007 (this was considered a demo by the band themselves), and the latest Our Streets Turn White was released on the 11th of October 2008 through Trial and Error records.
