The Caution Children are an experience that's as life fulfilling and utterly chaotic as one should expect from a band who's sound flows in between a beautiful ambiance and punishing drums with guttural screams. "Unknown Lands" is the bands second full length, building from the lessons learned after releasing "Vacations" in 2008, this record features the debut of Tony Oriza on Drums (also in Flashlights) and Bobby Caruso on Bass (ex- Cassettes on Fire). Recorded and Mixed by Mike York (of Pianos Become The Teeth) at The Crawlspace and then Mastered by Carl Saff at Carl Saff Mastering, Unknown Lands is not only an incredible sophomore release for the band but a sure sign that they are moving even closer to their full potential.

There’s something special about the way this band writes their music.  Ian (guitar) and John (bass) both live in Florida, Nick (vocals) usually lives in Berkley, CA with his girlfriend, and Eddie (drums) lives in Athens, GA.  They work collaboratively by sending each other snippets of ideas and building on them.
Stylistically their music straddles the line between post rock and screamo – the vocals are artsy and never feel dishonest or over dramatic.  Ian’s guitars are heavily saturated with delay and reverb making volume swells and buildups, two techniques this band is really good at, feel monumental.
Apparently Ian recorded the entire album using his Mac’s internal microphone.  The quality that he was able to achieve is mind blowing.

The Caution Children are an ambient chaotic/outburst band from Jacksonville, Florida. Since their beginning in September 2004, they have released one EP and one full length, “Vacations”, on Tokyo Jupiter Records.
