Admittedly, there is nothing on this e.p. that has not been heard by ASIWYFA fans before; there are still the typical bone-crunching guitars that overlap each other, along with the distorted then clean guitar dynamics. For starters, B is for B-side is a nice number to open with; the only problem being that it doesn't feel like a finished ASIWYFA track - just as it begins to feel like the song is building up to an awesome climax it finishes.
This however, cannot be said for the latter track on the e.p., which is quite frankly sensational and possible ASIWYFA's best recording to date. S if for Salamander is a typical ASIWYFA track, build from the ground up. The track starts with a riff that goes on for around a minute, with the adding of the second guitar and slight speeding up of the initial riff. Then, back to that clean guitar that ASIWYFA incorporate so well. Then, prepare for liftoff. With the addition of a pounding drum beat, thudding bass-lines and some mean lead riffs you wont be able to resist this song for much longer. The rest will be history.
The e.p. itself is worth your time and money; if you are new to the band I would suggest the debut album, as I feel that the band on parts of this e.p. can be, shall I say, a little reserved. Not so on the debut. The e.p. is nothing new to ASIWYFA fans, but is bound to keep everyone who follows the band preoccupied and happy until the release of the the second LP.
