"Catholic Guilt Or The Queerest Of Thoughts" by All Human is a highly textural Electronic Indie album.

Songs within the album draw the line between a chilled out vibe, and an urgency that excites and draws the listener in. This combination creates an interesting conflict that gets resolved somewhere between heavy electronic textures, eerie songwriting and vocals, and a constant driving alt rock spirit.

Songs like "Oh My My Boy (This Island Has A Sex Drive)" start off with sparse production, a raw beat, and then the vocals flesh out that skeleton (along with techno noise) with dirty lyrics and an array of dynamically different vocal harmonies. The dynamics of this particular song can serve as a mirror for the entire album... moods shift, feelings change, and nothing is ever set in stone. -Michael Rickert (examiner.com)

Múm - 2002 Finally we are no one

Band : Múm
Album : Finally we are no one
Release Year : 2002
Genre : Ambient | Electronic | Post-Rock | Experimental

Tracklist :
1. Sleep/Swim
2. Green Grass of Tunnel
3. We Have a Map of the Piano
4. Don't Be Afraid You Have Just Got Your Eyes Closed
5. Behind Two Hills. A Swimming Pool
6. K/Half Noise
7. Now There's That Fear Again
8. Farawat Swimmingpool
9. I Can't Feel My Hand Anymore, It's Alright, Sleep Tight
10. Finally We Are No One
11. The Land Between Solar Systems

When Mum first came on to the scene, they were immediately paired up beside fellow Icelandics, Sigur Ros, and people were waiting for the epic climaxes and glittery melodies they knew hailed from Iceland. Yet, once people really met Mum, they realized they were not all that similar, aside from each band being rather eccentrically unique. At first it was hard to tell what exactly Mum was going for, but with Finally We Are No One, the essence of Mum really comes out. The gentle vocals, the repetitive yet creative song structures, and the pretty melodies. Finally We Are No One will probably never be titled a masterpiece or widely remembered, however it is an album easy to fall in love with, and lovers will remember it forever.

The second track on the album, released as a sort of single before the album was out, is “Green Grass of Tunnel”. It’s a soaring melodic song with tender female vocals that is the perfect beginning to the beautiful journey that is Finally We Are No One. The conglomerate of instruments on the album are the first thing to warrant attention. The gentle introduction of horns, strings, synthesizers and even accordion cater to the listener, serenely satisfying. Piano is featured notably on "We Have A Map of the Piano", basically the same melody repeated endlessly; it showcases the beauty of a few notes played softly again and again. That song is a perfect example of all that the album has to offer; lovely melodies, soft voices, and in that particular song a beautiful accordion solo.

The wilting melody in “K/Half Noise” and gentle electronic orchestration and layering is so beautiful it feels organic, yet at the same time is very clearly computerized sounds. That picturesque blend is another facet on the album which Mum wins the listener over with. “Now There’s That Fear Again” is an example of the more conventional sound Mum acquires. The rhythm is comprised of clicks and pops, but you feel the soft traditional chord changes and melody, blending with the female vocals. It washes gently over you, allowing you to fully soak it up before it passes. “I Can’t Feel My Hand Anymore…” features accordion once again; it is one of my favorite tracks on the album, building steadily to the end and having a sort of relaxed climax. Then there is the title track, “Finally We Are No One”, which sounds like the soundtrack to a movie, comprising a sort of epic tension without being very tense at all. Finally we reach the beauty that is “The Land Between Solar Systems”. This piece takes captive the listener, tying you up and forcing you to swallow all of its magic. The gentle voice and simple melody tear me up inside with their soft prettiness. It’s the antithesis of violence yet my heart cries out for passion, brutality, and a tearing apart of everything. It’s the perfect conclusion to the record.

The earlier mention of the development of Mum into more of a 'typical band' is not to say that they have left behind all traces of their eccentric computerized filled glory. Several tracks still contain sound effects and noises and by no means does this album exemplify some mainstream form of Mum. However, the album is comparatively more accessible, being easy to enjoy on a slow day or as you fall asleep; the only real areas I can see a person being seriously turned off is by its potential boringness, due to the sparseness of melodic or vocal action. -Nate Sniffen

Genghis Tron - 2008 Board Up The House

Band : Genghis Tron
Album : Board Up The House
Release Year : 2008
Genre : Grindcore | Electronic | Chaotic | Experimental

Tracklist :
1. Board Up The House
2. Endless Teeth
3. Things Don't Look Good
4. Recursion
5. I Won't Come Back Alive
6. City On A Hill
7. The Whips
8. Blow Back
9. Colony Collapse
10. The Feast
11. Ergot (Relief)

Before making their debut LP, what we now know as Dead Mountain Mouth, Genghis Tron seemingly figured this out. They realized they were perhaps falling into a novel niche, a gimmick that was essentially played out after five songs. Their full length was thus pivotal, it had to reinforce whether they, as a band, were going to remain a more entertaining but equally gimmicky An Albatross or if they were going to take what they had and shape it. Though it was initially a let down, Genghis Tron thankfully went with the latter. They probably realized, much like many of us have, that they used up most of their "fun" ideas on the EP.

Both Cloak of Love and Dead Mountain Mouth did what was necessary. The EP gave the band some notoriety, and helped establish a fanbase, while the full-length solidified that they were capable of more than gimmicky contrasts. Sure, Dead Mountain Mouth was in many ways a disappointment, but in hindsight, it was a letdown not because of the diminished amount of fun, but because it was wholly underwhelming. Thankfully Dead Mountain Mouth was just the nail in the wall; Board up the House is the finished product.

Board up the House begins with a track of the same name, counting with an almost haunting pseudo-dance loop, a darker slant on what you would have heard on the EP. The song finally kicks in, and it's all over the place, something that continues throughout and is actually more of a positive than it may seem. The title track also introduces listeners to the newest piece of the puzzle: the band's newfound melody. Though it's not to say they were without melody on past releases, Genghis Tron has found a way to incorporate clean vocals into their relatively chaotic sound, something "Board up the House" does immediately, varying between shriek accompanied blasts and clean, synth-subdued melodic passages.

While the band has found a way to incorporate clean vocals into the mix, it's more of a side step from chaos than an actual step back. "City on a Hill", for example, is absolutely relentless with its shape-shifting. It's also the only track with any semblance of what the band was doing just three years ago, as it's laced with a dance-y transition or two.
Throughout the album, there seems to one persistent synth loop that re-enters just when you start to forget about it. I wouldn't say it's a leitmotif so much as a thread that stretches front to back, but I will say that it hints at just how controlled the band has become just three years after their absolute lack of cohesion and order garnered them a fanbase.

Things have taken a darker, more mature (I guess) turn on Board up the House and Kurt Ballou's presence is felt more than ever, noted in the fact that at times chunks of certain tracks will sound scarily familiar, almost like someone's got their copy of Jane Doe spinning in the background. Beyond that, there are very few pressing negatives to be found. The brief instances of post-suffix atmospherics are at times hit or miss, or in the case of "Relief", the 10 minute track that's 9 and a half minutes too long, absolutely pointless. At times, both the harsh and clean vocals leave a lot to desired, but they're rarely irksome and usually adequate. The only other fault I find is just as easily one of the album's stronger aspects: it hits its stride early and rides it, alongside that aforementioned persistent synth, right until the end.

Put in perspective, Board up the House is a solid album. It downplays their grind roots at parts, but allows their chaotic past to re-enter when applicable (Colony Collapse, City on a Hill, The Feast). Most importantly, it's everything Dead Mountain Mouth should have been: cohesive, consistent and entertaining. Add in the occasional body-groovin' loop or two and you've really got Genghis Tron at their best. Genghis Tron have moved beyond the gimmick, and for those who still yearn for some unadulterated fun, Cloak of Love does still exist. This album does not erase the past, it builds on it, and barring an obvious house metaphor, that's important to remember. -Tyler Munro

Blak Nite - 2011 Versionen

Band : Blak Nite
Album : Versionen
Release Year : 2011
Genre : Glitch | Electronic

Tracklist :
 1. Versionen
2. Tongue In Chiq (Rolo Tomassi)
3. Gutter (Thunderskank)
4. Stableface (Eleven Tigers)
5. Peekay (run,WALK!)
6. Our Fathers' Guns (Kerouac)
7. Redemption (Autodidakt)
8. Without You (Jamie Grind)

Blak Nite is a DJ/producer from London who demands attention. Dealing in a genre that’s becoming saturated with copycats and ‘anything goes’ mentalities, his debut EP, “Hyde” brought a much needed sense of flair, originality and technical prowess that could stand up alongside established acts like SebAstian, Proxy and Boys Noize.

His forthcoming album Versionen consists of 8 tracks, with 7 of them being remixes from wide and varied selection of artists such as, Rolo Tomassi, Eleven Tigers and Jamie Grind but to name a few. It all kicks off with an original version and title of the album Versionen. A great intro to the album and a track that fills your speakers with a range of different melodic and almost haunting sounds.

Now he’s about to release his debut LP, Versionen on limited 12" vinyl and digital download this summer on Tangled Talk Records, and be sure to buy it, cause you will have a bonus track from it!

Animals of the Bible - 2007 Animals of the Bible

Band : Animals of the Bible
Album : Animals of the Bible
Release Year : 2007
  Genre : Post-Punk | Electronic | Experimental

 Tracklist :
 01 Holiday
02 Electric Mistake
03 I.Hate.Ewe
04 Shockandahhhh
05 Momsthenewdad
06 Dadsthenewmom
07 Chase That Dragon
08 Dance Trash Dance
09 Kuffs

The 9 tracks come out, at first, like a panic attack: tense, urgent, and all at once. then somewhere unexpectedly around the middle it was like someone took a bar and everything slowed down. It took me a while the realize that, since the band broke up in early 2006, this whole album was written in the crazy, wacky world of post 9-/11 national PTSD. Once that realization hit me it all made sense. This album is the the perfect description of how the first five years of war felt for me and I'm sure many other young people growing up through all the bullshit. Even though, to this day, I can't understand a single fucking word being said (and I'm almost certain the lyrics aren't political in nature) the emotive tone of the vocals can almost tell the story of a PTSD Vet, coming home and winding up at BAMC or Medical Center.

Over the course of the album the band starts a little cold and as the music begins everything is just a tiny bit off beat. But as AOTB progress's throughout the set everything gets tighter and groovier. We begin to hear the Synth alternating skillfully between being a lead and a droning background instrument. What appears to be an Alesis Micron creates, between tracks, surreal and almost disquieting interludes that are perfect breaks between the freneticism of most of the tracks and by the end we are left entirely exhausted.

(Ultimately, I suppose, the music sounds as though Reader had sex with Make Your Own Maps…. actually, That's exactly what it sounds like…. Period…. Fuck everything else I just said.)

Animals of the Bible was always a bundle of questions. An artifact from before the times of Pinata Protest and Pop Pistol, from before Lisa Frank and Gloam and Ecocide, from before Deer Vibes and Viet-Ruse. From before I was around I guess. I'm sure some of you know the story of AOTB, I'm sure some of you know them personally and you might find this short term nostalgia humorous. But I think this is the most important part of music. The memories we attach to a song or an album, to the moment of first experiencing. It's something that will always be evoked when you go back to it.

I'm not sure. For me Animals of The Bible will always be: A 40oz. Old English in 2007, Leaning about what happened in New York from Texas -6th grade -spanish class, Punk that inspires, the language of our children and all that other lame ass shit. And I think, that it will always be much more fun that way.

Ghost Mountain - 2009 Siamese Sailboats

Band : Ghost Mountain
Album : Siamese Sailboats
 Release Year : 2009
 Genre : Indie | Electronic | Hip-Hop | Experimental

Tracklist :
01 The Atomic Brain
02 Trees
03 Squid Riot
04 Good Heart
05 Neon Swings
06 Super
07 Furry Smiles
08 Just A Kid
09 Batman on a Couch
10 Friends
11 Face
12 Clementine

And now, dropping by from another planet...Ghost Mountain's Siamese Sailboats. Okay, maybe not, but that's sure what it feels like to listen to the trio's seemingly acid-fueled mashup of Spiritualized psychedelia, nerdcore-style rapping, and downright joyful-sounding, Atom and His Package-esque candy-pop melodies; I'll grant that there's probably somebody out there who's hit on this particular combination independently, but I sure as hell haven't ever heard 'em.
The band's closest analogue at points is probably Bay Area freak-hoppers cLOUDDEAD, particularly in terms of the oddball lyrical imagery and the waves and washes of noise that occasionally threaten to drown vocalist/sampler-wielder Daniel's voice, but really, I can't bring myself to label this "hip-hop" of any flavor. It just doesn't fit; Ghost Mountain's vocals are primarily rapped in Daniel's nerdy-guy deadpan, but they're only a tool, a piece used to build the whole contraption.

At their best, Ghost Mountain plays like the love child of Animal Collective neo-psych and a syrup-slowed, heavy-lidded MC Paul Barman, incorporating vocab-heavy lines with layers of bright, warm-and-fuzzy M83 synths, cloud-sweeping atmospherics, and a gleeful sense of childish abandon (see "The Atomic Brain," "Trees," "Face"). At their weirdest, they near Four Tet territory, crafting intricate blankets of warm, comforting instrumental melodicism, with multi-instrumentalist Stephen (the third member of the triad is electric guitarist Max; no last names here, apparently) singing near-unintelligibly through a vocoder (see "Neon Swings," "Furry Smiles," "Friends").

Oddly enough, those bits of the disc remind me of nobody more than ex-Houstonian Jody Hughes, who put out a completely obscure album of vocoder pop several years back before vanishing completely to parts unknown. Given these guys' relatively youthful demeanor and the fact that Hughes is barely a memory these days, I'm guessing they'd have no clue who he is/was, but it's still an intriguing resemblance.
The utter high point of the album is "Good Heart," with its bitter-yet-restrained lyrics (which are addressed to a former lover/girlfriend but really seemed aimed, Stuart Smalley-like, right back at the singer as a kind of affirmation), head-nodding beat, thick, escalating bassline, watery keys, and -- best of all -- left-field, hymn-like "Stars in the sky" refrain.
It's like nothing I've ever heard before, and even after repeated listens, I find myself skipping backwards through the album, trying in vain to figure out how they pieced and assembled all this together and made it work. Because it definitely freaking does, somehow. -Jeremy Hart

Genghis Tron - 2005 Cloak Of Love

Band : Genghis Tron
Album : Cloak Of Love
Release Year : 2005
Genre : Grindcore | Electronic | Chaotic | Experimental

Tracklist :
1) Rock Candy
2) Arms
3) Ride the Steambolt
4) Laser Bitch
5) Sing Disorder

Genghis Tron is a three-piece band from Poughkeepsie, NY.
The trio formed in early 2004 where they met as students at Vassar College. They recorded a demo in 2004 entitled Laser Bitch, and released their debut EP Cloak Of Love the following year.

Part Grindcore, part Experimental Electronica, and all amazing, Cloak of Love is the definition of the word 'unique'. Songs will go from blast beats and math riffs to hip hop beats and ambient electronica and back again in a way that makes it seem like it's the most natural thing in the world. If you savvy yourself a fan of Grindcore you need to give this a listen. If you like electronic music but aren't that fond of spasticly fast drums or screaming vocals I would still say you should give this a shot. The Grindcore is what carries the EP, but it's done in such a way that's not as overly abrasive as you would expect it to be. Genghis Tron is one of the very few heavy bands thats just avant-garde enough to have a fan base in the Hipster crowd as well as among Grindcore fans...that's saying something right there.

Error - 2004 Error EP

Band : Error
Album : Error EP
Release Year : 2004
Genre : Electronic / Digital Hardcore / Noise / Experimental

Tracklist :
01 Nothing's Working
02 Homicide
03 Burn in Hell
04 Jack the Ripper
05 Brains Out

Error is an electro-hardcore band founded in 2003 by 12 Rounds member and Nine Inch Nails collaborator Atticus Ross, and Bad Religion guitarist Brett Gurewitz. Since the 2004 release of their self-titled EP, the project has been on hiatus.
According to a Metal Hammer article on the band; "Error came about when Atticus realised his cocking about in the studio had produced something along the lines of actual songs.

Atticus recruited his younger brother Leopold Ross to play drums and Bad Religion member and Epitaph Records owner Brett Gurewitz to play guitar and bass. He also recruited Dillinger Escape Plan frontman Greg Puciato to perform vocals on their first release, but he is only considered to be a temporary member. The band released its first record, a self-titled EP, in 2004. The EP feature's The Locust's keyboardist Joey Karam playing a Moog synthesizer on the track "Jack The Ripper". Prior to the EP's release, Error released a song on Punk-O-Rama 8 in 2003 entitled "Transplant/Quick Death (Error Remix)".
Error was reported to be looking for a full time vocalist for touring and for an upcoming album, however the future of the band has been a topic for discussion on many internet message boards. No further news has been released on the status of the new album, however as the first EP was created with virtually no outside knowledge, the album may be similarly produced behind closed doors.

Lolita Storm - 2001 Sick Slits EP

Band : Lolita Storm
Album : Sick Slits EP
Release Year : 2001
Genre : Electronic / Noise / Digital Hardcore / Experimental

Tracklist :
1 Annabelle
2 Rosaline
3 Omelda
4 Suzy (Straight Version)
5 Candy
6 Natasha
7 Suzy (Noise Version)

Lolita Storm is the perfect pop band for the 21:st century. Three young women sharing the microphone, backed up by tall, Jon Spencer look-a-like, Jimmy Too-Bad's rounds of primal sampler squalls. Their debut album "Girls Fucking Shit up" was the sound of lovely 60's girl group pop, run over by a breakbeat bulldozer fuelled on a cocktail of teenage hormones and cheap amphetamines. Repeatedly.
Their "Sick Slits" EP sees the twisted corpse electro shocked back to life, a high voltage wire twitching it into a danse macabre. It's darker, slightly more complex and more disturbing than before.
The seven tracks, all brilliantly carrying girl's names, see Lolita Storm pushing their equipment and throats to the limit. The noisy, pulverizing rhythms collide with almost Skinny Puppy-esque, cheap string samples and electronic noise. But just when you're about to think you've had enough, they kick start a chorus that sends you straight to pop heaven. And the average song length is two minutes. They're in a league of their own.

Cutting Pink With Knives - 2007 Populuxxe

Band : Cutting Pink With Knives
Album : Populuxxe
Release Year : 2007
Genre : Nintendocore / Electronic / Experimental

Tracklist :
1. St. Lazare
2. Coasts
3. St. Mark
4. Airz
5. See Emm Sea
6. You're Late
7. Idic
8. Montreal, Renegade
9. Pyramids
10. No Falcons
11. Lightning's Solar Crystal Power
12. Universal Models
13. All Our Oldest Spirits And Ghosts
14. Lions
15. Laser Hannon
16. Cosmic Explosion Of The Velvets

Pity the poor weekend kid whose final job at insert reputable record store here before a return to a five-day slog of sixth form nonsense is to rack this album, the second inverted-commas long-player from London-based synapse-butchers Cutting Pink With Knives. Rock/pop? Fair enough, yet Populuxxe is neither and both. And stupid-electro-core. And drum-and-bass-in-space. And camp-pop-jazz. And jizz-splatter-keyz. And screamo-jerk-filth. And something in-between that man’s had no need ‘til now to coin a pigeonhole for.
Although running to 16 tracks, this is an album that really doesn’t outstay its welcome at a brief 25 minutes long – seizure-inducing bursts of bombast, replete with vocals straight out of a slasher flick played at double speed, buzz past the listener with such frightening ferocity (sub that for ‘velocity’ and it still rings true) that each break – a little synth boogie here, some super-cheesy ‘80s hair-metal geetar licks there – is an oasis in a desert swarming with gun-toting hostiles. An album for those short of attention span this most certainly is – weekend record store kids will have had fag-break wanks that lasted longer than Populuxxe.
Compositionally, CPWK have progressed quite noticeably from their fun but one-dimensional debut, Oh Wow!; whereas that offered a series of sound-alike blasts of ADHD electro-infected screamo, here the band breaks from the aggressive stereotype to deliver a healthy does of fun into proceedings. The increased presence of high-in-the-mix keys – set within the frantic beat structure of pieces that jerk like convulsive Smurfs – adds an air of Blood Brothers to an already potent mix; as a result, CPWK’s potential audience quadruples in an instant. This is music you can dance to in the most over-the-top manner possible (read: get electric-boogaloo) and fuck some dude’s face up to. If he puts a foot out of line, that is – CPWK don’t go for that King of the Pit shit, at least not without a knowing smile.

All Leather - 2009 Hung Like A Horse

Band : All Leather
Album : Hung Like A Horse
Release Year : 2009
Genre : Punk / Grindcore / Electronic / Experimental

Tracklist :
1. As The Hog Pisseth
2. We’re Skrewed
3. I Don’t Hate Fags, God Does
4. Audios Mi Amoebas
5. Please Jesus, Send Me Someone To Fuck

With the demise of Some Girls and the considerable downtime of The Locust, Justin Pearson got the itch to do something new.  He teamed up with fellow Some Girls cohort Nathan Joyner and Maniqui Lazer’s Jung Sing to form All Leather
All Leather ventures towards slightly different territory that previous Pearson projects, and yet there is still that distinct sound that one has come to expect from his output.  Hung Like a Horse is a five-song EP that walks the line between electronica, punk, grindcore, and dance-pop.  If you could imagine a battle between of The Locust and any bass-heavy dance/raver music you’d be along the right line.  “As the Hog Pisseth” is as accessible as Pearson has ever been, his vocals are decipherable. Some songs are more dance-oriented – “”Audios Mi Amoebas” – while others venture closer towards screamo – “We’re Skrewed.”
All Leather isn’t for everyone - that is for sure.  If you haven’t enjoyed any previous material from the individuals involved I doubt you’ll find All Leather worth your time.  It is polarizing, even for those that have heard it all.

Intro5pect - 2007 Realpolitik!

Band : Intro5pect
Album : Realpolitik!
Release Year : 2007
Genre : Punk / Electronic / Experimental

Tracklist:
01. the war at home
02. opressing you
03. crooked lies (make baby jesus cry)
04. for blood under god
05. no compromises
06. nazi white trash
07. goodbye goodnight

This 2007 EP came four years after Intro5pect’s debut full-length from A-F Records. With such a long wait between releases, it’s a shame that this EP is 12 minutes shorter than their previous endeavor. Regardless, this package has some solid tunes to be heard. Intro5pect’s reputation of mixing A-F brand punk rock with electronica and synth is by now widely known in the punk community and also widely loved. Since their first full-length, the band has developed quite a following. I had hoped for a few imitation bands to pop up by now, but I’ve yet to come across any that do it well.
Overall, this is another solid effort from the only band that blends punk rock and electronica in a masterful way, but this isn’t the near-classic album that was their 2004 release. Here’s hoping that Intro5pect’s 2009 EP is more on par with their earlier material than their later.

Outline In Color - 2010 Outline In Color EP

Band : Outline In Color
Album : Outline In Color EP
Release Year : 2010
Genre : Post-Hardcore / Electronic

Tracklist :
01. No Bleeding on the Carpet
02. Every Boy Should Collect Knives
03. One of Two Ways
04. My Other Car is A Time Machine
05. Promises

Outline In Color are a 6 piece post-hardcore/electronic band. They mix elements of metalcore and electronics, thus producing their sound.
The whole sixth-member-plays-synth aspect of bands has become a trend that is typically executed horridly. Unless they can also shred on a piano, I don’t want to hear it. However, when it works, it really works. Some bands don’t need their synth player to be successful — it’s just an added bonus (when it actually works, like I said) that enhances their sound. This is one of those bands. There isn’t an aspect of Outline In Color’s music that doesn’t fit or that you listen to and wonder why they did that, or why that member of the band is even there. Six members, six instruments that shine in their own way. While their vocalists separate them from the rest of these auto-tuned sheep that no one would listen to if it weren’t for their sweet haircuts and tight pants, the four remaining members aren’t there just for show. You can’t ignore them because they make sure doing such a thing would be impossible. Until it comes to the last track, this band is in your face for a solid fifteen minutes. And, even at the end, it’s almost like they’re apologizing for kicking your face in so badly. Apology accepted, guys. Thanks for the killer tunes.

Most Wanted Monster - 2010 Most Wanted Monster [EP]

Band : Most Wanted Monster
Album : Most Wanted Monster [EP]
Release Year : 2010
Genre : Post-Hardcore / Electronic / Hardcore

Tracklist :
 01.Tell And Phone
02.Fatality
03.Next Era
04.In Grief

Founded in early 2009 “most wanted monster” started their stage-experiences within the “Weight of the World Tour”, which led them to shows with “Parachutes”, “Kenai”, “Sights&Sounds”, “Misery Signals”, “Your Demise”, “The Number Twelve Looks Like You” and many more. Their songs show influences by “Enter Shikari” and “A Day To Remember” and unite melodic electronical parts with rough Hardcore. With this combination they quickly built up a yet small fanbase following them - might be because of the members’ well-known ex-bands as well.

Iwrestledabearonce - 2010 It's All Dubstep EP

Band : Iwrestledabearonce
Album : It's All Dubstep EP
Release Year : 2010
Genre : Mathcore / Electronic / Experimental

Tracklist:
01. Danger in the Manger (Big Chocolate Remix)
02. See You In Shell (Sluggo Remix)
03. I'm Cold and There Are Wolves After Me (Hulk Remix)
04. The Cat's Pajamas (Piranha Remix)
05. Danger in the Manger (Sluggo & Itchy Robot Remix)

Since they first caught our eye at SXSW in 2009, iwrestledabearonce is a band that continues to captivate us in the way they explore new musical territories, blend the borders between genres and just generally rock out.
Now the band has taken another step toward total dominance of the musical world, inviting DJs to take a stab at remixing their blend of grindcore and electronica. The resulting EP, It's All Dubstep, is pretty extraordinary, and the best part is that the band is giving the remixed tracks away on their Facebook page for free.
The great thing about this compilation is the way that no DJ remixed the band similarly. Some went dark while some went dancy, some focused on frontwoman Krysta's ethereal pipes while some grabbed hold of her guttural growls for all their worth.
IWABO guitarist Steven Bradley summed it up best in this statement:This project rules because the mixes were all done by people even more insane than us, so these tracks are even crazier/heavier/weirder than the original songs.
That's pretty dead on.

Intro5pect - 2009 Record Profits

Band : Intro5pect
Album : Record Profits
Release Year : 2009
Genre : Punk / Electronic / Experimental

Tracklist:
1. Work To Live
2. Fuck Your Flag
3. Sound Is The Enemy
4. Collateral
5. The System
6. Turnaround
7. Plastic World

The seven-song EP gets going with what is likely to be one of the catchiest non-Orgcore songs of the year, “Work to Live.” The choppy `77 guitars are layered alongside 8-bit synths, blipping and bleeping over a driving digital rhythm. “Fuck Your Flag” smacks of a poppier Anti-Flag with male and female vocals, much like “Sound Is the Enemy,” a riff-heavy choral manifesto propelled forward by a breakneck beat, save for the chunky call-and-response breakdown that takes up the middle.
The band really hits their stride by the time “Collateral” comes around, thick with a rolling bassline and flittering percussion and made memorable with a booming chorus and sound bite collage that seems to take aim at every president since the invention of the microphone. “The System” is fairly baldfaced politically, with a chorus of “Fuck the system / Fuck the system / Fuck the system / Tear it down” but blends in some nice synth work, while “Turnaround” is the disc’s most straightforward punk number. Keyboardist Sara Zaidi takes charge of “Plastic World,” both vocally and instrumentally, as the Metroid-styled keys rise to dominance when she’s not singing about feeling constrained by the status quo -- er rather, not caring about feeling constrained by the status quo.
Intro5pect are in fine form on Record Profits, having finally figured out how to diversify their sound while still creating a patently individual style. The seven songs of Record Profitshurl forth with dizzying ferocity and don’t let up while showcasing the seamless blend of electronic dance music and digital punk that has become Intro5pect’s calling card.
