Formed in late 2009 in Besançon, the group consists of five musicians. I WAS A COSMONAUT HERO is moving towards a sincere music, aggressive and tinged melodies chaotic. At the crossroads of post hardcore and screamo. The texts questioning life, human relationships and the place of the individual in society. From this division was born a tormented her, nervous and abrasive. This airy and spacey post-rock feel permeates the album even when one can easily draw connections to bands such as Russian Circles and Red Sparowes and their brand of heavier post-rock. The album flows naturally and one is never left feeling disjointed and no transitions are jarring. If Trees Could Talk have crafted an album that flows seamlessly from haunting melodies to soothing sonnets. The music sometimes feels like you’re summiting a mountain peak and breathing in the cool, virgin air while other times you feel like you are tumbling head over heels downriver, caught in the current. Both are exhilarating and euphoric. This album is not one that you can merely listen to, it must be experienced. You will find time passing that you don’t remember; so entranced were you with the music. This is helped along by the wonderful pacing of the album. Never are you left wishing the music was slower or faster, it is always exactly the right speed. The guitars flow over each other to create a sonic landscape that sounds huge. These songs just feel large. This album generates a feeling of great open spaces, of the world before us. This music is the soundtrack to exploration.

If you are looking for an album that is beautiful without being overbearing, tenacious without being overzealous or just something that will make you forget your problems, this is where you should stay. If one needs even more convincing just listen to the gorgeous melodies that are contained within “The Aleutian Clouds”. How these men transfer such elegance from their minds to their music is a mystery.

As the album fades and your journey draws to a close you may realize that the last fifty minutes or so slipped away from you. This album possess the ability to truly remove you from reality, a goal that many strive to achieve but never fully grasp.

"Partners in crime Caravels and Gifts From Enola have been threatening to make a split album together for a couple years now, and luckily for all of us... they've finally made good on that threat. Harrisonburg, VA's Gifts From Enola offer up two razor sharp, hardcore-tinged, post-something rippers, pushing forward hard on the evolution of their sound from the critically acclaimed self-titled 2010 full length that included "touches of Thrice's well structured post-hardcore, Tortoise's experimental side and even a little Fugazi thrown in for good measure" according to Decibel Magazine and that Lambgoat called a "gorgeous kaleidoscope of guitar playing and overall musicianship". Meanwhile, Las Vegas, NV natives in Caravels continue to push their multi-textured brand of emotive hardcore into new and unexplored territory. And for a band "already on the cusp of greatness" as Punk News proclaimed, it's impossible to listen to these songs and not believe that they have lived up to that hype with these three tracks - their newest hybrids of old school screamo blended seamlessly with layered post-rock elements. In Abstraction is much like a river, just flowing along. It lacks waves, it lack ripples. In some tracks, the flow is important, such as the somber yet soothing “The House Were You Were Born” and “Firewind” which are comprised mainly of clean vocals crooned over the almost lethargic instrumentals. “Tides” is one of the better songs on In Abstraction, with over seven minutes of singing, screaming and ambient passages. In fact, most songs on the album breach the five minute mark, some clocking in at eight or nine minutes, which contributes to In Abstraction’s whopping fifty-one minutes of duration over the course of seven tracks.

In Abstraction is a beautiful, poignant album. However, don’t expect easy listening – ideally the music would demand your attention, but sadly it doesn’t. In an interview, A Hope For Home states that this is the album that came more naturally; that In Abstraction embodied what they wanted to do with their music. However, not always what the band wants is good for them; in fact, it may cause them to lose fans. While this isn’t quite the case for A Hope For Home with this album, it comes close to alienating listeners who preferred the production and overall vibe from The Everlasting Man and Realis.

Cara Neir are two-man project that started in the fall of 2008 and are based in Dallas, TX. And why i'm enjoying this one? When Mum first came on to the scene, they were immediately paired up beside fellow Icelandics, Sigur Ros, and people were waiting for the epic climaxes and glittery melodies they knew hailed from Iceland. Yet, once people really met Mum, they realized they were not all that similar, aside from each band being rather eccentrically unique. At first it was hard to tell what exactly Mum was going for, but with Finally We Are No One, the essence of Mum really comes out. The gentle vocals, the repetitive yet creative song structures, and the pretty melodies. Finally We Are No One will probably never be titled a masterpiece or widely remembered, however it is an album easy to fall in love with, and lovers will remember it forever.

The second track on the album, released as a sort of single before the album was out, is “Green Grass of Tunnel”. It’s a soaring melodic song with tender female vocals that is the perfect beginning to the beautiful journey that is Finally We Are No One. The conglomerate of instruments on the album are the first thing to warrant attention. The gentle introduction of horns, strings, synthesizers and even accordion cater to the listener, serenely satisfying. Piano is featured notably on "We Have A Map of the Piano", basically the same melody repeated endlessly; it showcases the beauty of a few notes played softly again and again. That song is a perfect example of all that the album has to offer; lovely melodies, soft voices, and in that particular song a beautiful accordion solo.

The wilting melody in “K/Half Noise” and gentle electronic orchestration and layering is so beautiful it feels organic, yet at the same time is very clearly computerized sounds. That picturesque blend is another facet on the album which Mum wins the listener over with. “Now There’s That Fear Again” is an example of the more conventional sound Mum acquires. The rhythm is comprised of clicks and pops, but you feel the soft traditional chord changes and melody, blending with the female vocals. It washes gently over you, allowing you to fully soak it up before it passes. “I Can’t Feel My Hand Anymore…” features accordion once again; it is one of my favorite tracks on the album, building steadily to the end and having a sort of relaxed climax. Then there is the title track, “Finally We Are No One”, which sounds like the soundtrack to a movie, comprising a sort of epic tension without being very tense at all. Finally we reach the beauty that is “The Land Between Solar Systems”. This piece takes captive the listener, tying you up and forcing you to swallow all of its magic. The gentle voice and simple melody tear me up inside with their soft prettiness. It’s the antithesis of violence yet my heart cries out for passion, brutality, and a tearing apart of everything. It’s the perfect conclusion to the record.

The earlier mention of the development of Mum into more of a 'typical band' is not to say that they have left behind all traces of their eccentric computerized filled glory. Several tracks still contain sound effects and noises and by no means does this album exemplify some mainstream form of Mum. However, the album is comparatively more accessible, being easy to enjoy on a slow day or as you fall asleep; the only real areas I can see a person being seriously turned off is by its potential boringness, due to the sparseness of melodic or vocal action. -Nate Sniffen

Juffage is Jeff T. Smith, a solo sound artist and multi-instrumentalist from Leeds, via Chicago, Illinois. He is often seen in bars, art galleries, and basements with a band’s worth of instruments.

A recording enthusiast at heart, he has spent time in some of Chicago’s finest studios including Engine Studios (w/ Brian Deck), and Electrical Audio (w/ Steve Albini). Live shows see him coming up with inventive new ways of bringing his multi-layered recordings to the stage, utilising live looping and multitasking of drums, vocals, basses, guitars, keys, omnichord, clarinet, melodica, and manipulated cassettes.

His new album, ‘Semicircle’, takes his distinctive larger-than-life performance style to an even grander scale, adding even more instruments to the mix. But there’s careful orchestration at work under the surface: couched in a patchwork of sounds and cut-up samples is a plethora of pop sensibilities. Recorded over a six year period in 22 different locations around the U.S.A. and U.K., ‘Semicircle’ is an ambitious record and a bold statement of the Juffage story so far. ‘Semicircle’ is released on 6th 2011 June via London label Function Records.

Keyes is a screamo band from san diego, ca. The record was presented to me as the product of influences from bands like Moving Mountains and Touché Amore, and as you'll probably agree, that's already a good enough reason to check something out. Upon listening to the disc, I would probably replace Touché Amore with La Dispute, but of course that doesn't make all that much of a difference. The emphasis is that this band has made it their mission to blend abrasive skramz with tranquil signature riffage and tremolo riffing from the realm of post-rock.

There are really five tracks on offer, but the opening "States Makes Good" is merely an atmospheric piece of ambience, which only lasts 46 seconds before we get down to business with "Cities of Fog with Nothing to Love". The song stands out by starting nice and quiet with subtle guitar-work and soulful clean vocals alá As Cities Burn, only to build nicely into urgent screams and a more frantic melody, before fading back into a quiet one which ends the track and leads into the next song. This one, titled "Snowglobe", consists of exactly the same elements, merely rearranged with different dynamics and tempo, and as it soon turns out on the last two songs, "Eleanor Lamb" and "Moon Follow Me", this is the formula the band is working with so far.

It's not exactly rocket science, and while there's a solid dynamic going on between the screams and the cleans, the latter of which provide some nice and memorable refrains in especially the first two songs, the songwriting is, as I hinted in the beginning, not quite top notch at this point. And that's pretty much the scoop on this early taste of what Keyes are working on. If you enjoy La Dispute or similar skramz revivalist bands, then Keyes surely has something to offer you, and the post-rock parts and clean vocals also provide an intriguing twist to their sound. That alone should be enough to catch the eye of declared genre-aficionados, even while I would personally like to see a little more coherent and intricate songwriting before I really break out the hype. -TL

Started out in 2008 with a Noise influenced Spazz/Punk sound. Has since evolved into a Gothic, Emotional Hardcore, Screamo act. Based in Santa Clarita California. Current members are Michael Kilker on vocals, Ryan Corbett on guitar, Nick Amaya on drums, and Andrew Headley on bass.

With influences that range from Modern Life is War, AFI, Orchid, and The Cure, it's difficult to confine Tidemouth to one specific genre. Too pained & instrumentally dynamic to be strictly hardcore, yet too heavy and eerily atmospheric to fall under the category of "90s screamo," this EP is caught in a purgatory between melodic angst and crushing sadness.

Driven by an insatiable desire to die (or find solace in this hell-on-earth), each track follows its predecessor ravenously and leaves nothing left to be desired. Deliberately punishing, "What I meant to Say" will spread the nothing that it has like cancer, leaving the listener with a formidable sense of hopelessness that makes for an incredibly depressing hardcore record.

Well well, what we got here?? A progressive rock band?? Hell yeah dude, why not?? Exiled is a 4 piece progressive rock/ambient band that came up from Atlanta, GA. Discovered this band from Facebook (again), and i got this album from their keyboardist, well thank you so much for Jeremy Scott Edge for sharing your music here!!

Before i heard this album, i expect that this music would sounds like Dream Theater or a kind, but i was wrong!! And when i heard it, there's more like ambient stuff on it, especially from the first track, and when the second track play, dude, i like the way that the vocalist sing. That's the typical of prog-rock vocal, it reminds me to Symphony X, awesome!! And for the next other track, i think they became more similar to Dream Theater, in the vocal way of course. Well, all in all, this album is really worth to listen!!

The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble (TKDE) formed in 2000 as a project to compose new music for existing silent movies. Jason Köhnen (aka Bong-Ra) and Gideon Kiers (Telcosystems), both graduates of the Utrecht School of Arts, combined their audio and visual skills to reinterpret classic movies by F.W. Murnau (Nosferatu) and F. Lang (Metropolis).

In 2004 UK trombonist Hilary Jeffery and Swiss cellist Nina Hitz joined TKDE to record the self-titled debut album which was released on Planet Mu Records in May 2006. The ensuing tour saw Eelco Bosman and Paris based vocalist Charlotte Cegarra join, forming the Ensemble into a sextet. London based violinist Sadie Anderson joined in 2008 to supply the group with extra power on stage.

The Netherlands has been TKDE’s homebase since 2007, while members have moved closer to each other to make composing and producing easier.
Apart from the mothership which is TKDE, there is another entity; The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation is a live improv jazz / drone / doom side project consisting of TKDE members and a host of interchanging guest musicians.

Due to the vast possibilities within the band, the sound spectrum of TKDE is hard to capture within one specific composition. Moreover, the project will lean towards various styles depending on the respective members working together at a given time. A good mix between atmosphere and technique is always the strong basis for a TKDE composition.

Live TKDE fuse analog and digital as much as possible. Combining traditional instrumentations (comprising cello, trombone, violin, beats, guitar, bass and vocals) with existing and/or self-developed software, continuously blending and mutating, creating an organic and electronic performance, supported by visuals which add to and interact with the frequencies of said instruments.

There's a lot of good bands out there but not much of us knows about them, like this one. The Circle Ends Here, they only got 19 listeners on Last.fm and 842 people like them on Facebook!! How come every good bands have always a less listeners?? Because they're a new comer?? i don't know!!. Ok, just forget about Last.fm and Facebook, and let's talk about this band!! The Circle Ends Here is from Udine-Gorizia-Pordenone, Italy. They playing kind of Post-rock/metal, Ambient, and Post-hardcore with scream vocals. I really hope that Post-rock/metal band had a vocals like this. Btw, that's only my hope!!

There's a 4 tracks on this EP, all of them is heavy and good. Annihilation Of Entire Cities is stand out track i think, but the others is still really worth to listen. Well, just keep your eyes from this band, and i hope that they will release a full length album soon. But before it, you can enjoy this EP first, and give the band more support!!!

Last year, at the end of the Rosa Parks debut album. The Győr team that called itself the American lady, who in 1955, as a black, refused to hand over the location of the bus driver's instructions, despite a white passenger. I suppose a sort of ars poetica, can be interpreted as this: the guys like to rock music of the Hungarian felbolygatni water. Really interesting material appeared. Number 5, 31-minute album is completely instrumental except for a minute, a typical, well put together, thought out, based on the concept. After the jump more detailed penetrate the world of post-rockers.

The first, Stay Punk! Stay Prog! titled song features, especially the U2 guitarist The Edge's sound is often used to open. Echoes, without distortion guitar sound, and almost two minutes to hear this, large and small changes until it enters the crush. Then, the main topic for further bontogatása continuous váltásokkal, and thus largely made up of four additional number. Pleasant, slightly melancholy mood music is demanding and varied topics.

Second, I liked the 0110 best album. On the one hand, this is the one which immediately begins the tougher part, ignored the guitar sound heard before. The clear, slower part of me in a Radiohead-type unrecognized by the world. The number at the end of 4:46 to pick up sounds, then the end of the piano melody in the album I think the best part, after the initial acquaintances clearly wrapped always return here, this finding has been a very beautiful phrase in Hungarian.Then we return to a normal response, the shortest piece of the album. Not bad for acquisitions, but somehow I found they are not really finish.Overall a very pleasant voice with us in Győr were boys, and never worse debut album, I say.

I recommend anyone who loves instrumental music, post-rock, or who want sophisticated, complex background music, music to post (for example, while driving up high). If you prefer singing pro-and the more traditional rock music, like metal music, its probably not the Rosa Parks will become the new favorite, but in any case they deserve a chance. -Norbert K

It's makes me sad when i look up on their last.fm page, they only got 14 listeners!!??! Dude, how come a good and talented band like this have only 14 listeners? The only thing that make me happy is that i'm the top listener on their last.fm page!! Shit, forget about last.fm!! Well, here's the latest EP from The Prophet Nathan, this two songs was recorded about 2 weeks ago, so it's very fresh and new. I got this song from James the vocalist of this band, but you can find it on their bandcamp or their homepage too. Musically, this two songs is not much different from the songs in 1.414 to 1 EP. They cobine many kinds of music into one unified and distinct sound, that's what they said!! This band on tour now, and after they get back home they will record 3 or 4 new songs, thats what James Said to me. I just can't wait for that!! But before the new songs is up, you can enjoy it first!!

This is the first EP from this Nashville indie/mathrock duo, i've posted their second EP a couple of weeks ago. From this 5 tracks actually there's only two songs here, cause the 3 others is just like some kind of intro or interludes, and there's no vocal here, all of this is instrumental. The things that i love from them is the atmosphere that they made, it feels so nice and warm, and makes my ears get satisfied. May be this EP is not good as 1.414 to 1 EP, but it's still worth to listen. For those who don't know this band, may be you should check them out and feel what i felt. Enjoy!!!
