At first, “This Is Your Derailment” seems calm within the first 23 seconds of the opener, until the guitars become thicker, and the riffs become edgier. You would be forgiven if you think this is not a hardcore rock album when you begin to listen to the opening track despite its name It's Like Pulling Teeth. When the sub-audible growling furiously hits your eardrums, you know what you got yourself into. Trying to establish that they combine attractive harmonies with relentless melodies, the second track Count The Rings also starts off slow, and then progressively transition to fast- paced guitar riffs and frantic drumming.
These transitions in tempo are present in all of the other tracks but in a different structure and order. Not saying this album is repetitive, I, Apparatus has given this small, energetic package many twists and turns, even proving they know more than just growling in No One Likes The Water Levels On Mario.
