The Reptilian bring this blend of late 90s emo with modern takes on math rock and fuse them together with their post-hardcore influences to create a pretty damn good band. Musically it sort of sounds like cross of Boy Problems and Hot Cross, with elongated songs spinning off in various directions whilst singer Jon Sacha rather nervously yells out in a distinctive fashion. After listening to 1994! and The Reptilian back and forth I heard a lot of musical similarities as well. Basically, if you like 1994! I think you will love these guys. They aren't quite as frantic as 1994! (sometimes they are) but who says that is a bad thing? -circlingthedrain
