Band : Das Oath and Ampere
Album : Split
Release Year : 2006
Genre : Screamo | Emo Violence | Thrash
Tracklist :
1 Das Oath – The Living End (Jesus And Mary Chain)
2 Das Oath – Tourette's (Nirvana)
3 Das Oath – Wardance (Killing Joke)
4 Das Oath – Feel Like A Man (Negative FX)
5 Ampere – Bit Part In A Bad Movie (Born Against)
6 Ampere – Money Stinks (DRI)
7 Ampere – Conspiring The Go Go (Antioch Arrow)
8 Ampere – The Regulator (Bad Brains)
9 Ampere – Mr. Suit (Wire)
With four destructive tracks from Das Oath and five ragers from Ampere, this album is a head on collision of two of hardcore's noisiest present day innovators. Originally released as a limited LP for their recent East Coast tour together, the vinyl quickly disappeared.
The myth that Das Oath are covering the Offspring on their all-covers split with Ampere is perpetuated. It's not true! Anyone who has the first Killing Joke LP will recognize track 3 on the Das Oath/Ampere split as a cover of Killing Joke's "Wardance." However, since the record came without a track list, someone on vivalavinyl.org decided to play a joke years ago when a thread was started to determine who the covers on the record were originally by, and listed Das Oath's third track as "Why Don't You Get A Job" by The Offspring. Somehow, amazingly, no one caught this joke, and it has been repeated ubiquitously on many different internet sites since. Don't be fooled--Das Oath are not covering The Offspring. If you wish further confirmation, simply listen to the Das Oath song, then watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBm56qSS58Q
