The Ruptures started out as a project in the summer of 2008 between Jorge and Raz. They wrote a handful of songs and began recording them, they weren't happy with the outcome so they took a break. Between 2008 and 2010 they got involved in a handful of projects and repeatedly contemplated dropping Ruptures but there was something about it that they liked too much to end. In 2010, Mike and David joined the band. They both liked the sound they were going for and were really excited to join. They started playing shows and recording; they put out the milkbled ep and a lot of people liked it, so they recorded their second album adormidera right after, which is starting to do well. Right now they're working on their third album which should be out by the end of summer.
Their music is all about balance; when they write they talk about how they could communicate their feelings through music. Sometimes they want to sound angry and macabre because they feel that the song calls for it, but immediately they will write something to balance it out, something delicate or soft. The template of the band is punk but they aren't afraid to dive into whatever else appeals to us. they try to think of our music as a person, who goes through their day feeling a mix of emotions depending on the situation presented to them. It is very unrealistic to think that a person only listens to one type of music, and although they are labeled as "hard" music, each individual song takes them through a ride of emotions. They love the writing process of their band, they're always excited to practice and show our new ideas to each other, they think that's why it was so hard for them to drop the project, it just feels like it is theirs and it feels right. When they play their songs live there is not a second when they're not moving, they just feel the music. Well, here's the first ep from them, i posted the latest one a couples a month ago, so enjoy it!!
