9. To Question The Moment
These guys have been a mainstay of the DIY music scene here in Brisbane for a long time, playing their unique brand of jazzy, jangly indie/whatever you want to call it. This release shows them at their very best. Heavily jazz influenced, 'noodly' guitar is accompanied fantastically by smooth, melodic bass playing, the talents of someone who I consider to be one of Australia's most dynamic drummers, and the occasional, highly complementary smattering of trumpet. Top this off with an emotionally charged, heart-on-your-sleeve vocal delivery and you have a damn fine listening experience. A fantastic band and a fantastic release. For fans of the idea of Off Minor and Minus the Bear having disaffected children... kinda. -MIA
