Hailing from Wellington, Of Blackest Oceans chose to have this (they call it an EP) mixed and mastered at Outhouse Studios in Reading, UK by John Mitchell (Enter Shakari among others), and the seven stunning tracks offer maximum value and volume all the way. Engineering the project was their own guitarist Mark Coates and they’ve got it right from the get-go. Excellent production, complete songwriting (lyrics for all but the title track included) – it’s metal with both a punky and progressive edge. Oceans’ five are Dylan Sweetensen on vocals, Mark Coates and Bosko Kovacevic guitar, Kane Ross on bass and drummer Joseph Wright. Of Blackest Oceans have been careful to get every element ‘right’, but even so they’ve got their work cut out for them, as part of a very healthy scene, there are other bands sharing the space or snapping at their heels
