Band : Pictures
Album : Cross, Cross Eyed / I Can’t Touch Him; I Have Electric Hands
Release Year : 2008
Release Year : 2008
Genre : Post-Hardcore | Progressive | Experimental
Tracklist :
1. Cross, Cross Eyed
2. I Can't Touch Him; I Have Electric Hands
The only release from the now sadly defunct Brighton four-piece. Two tracks of angular, frantic post-hardcore in the same vein as bands like At The Drive In, Fall of Troy and The Blood Brothers.
Their 2 track single 'Cross, Cross Eyed' and 'I Can't Touch Him; I Have Electric Hands' is certainly a treat for your ears. Interesting, unique, experimental, and interesting (yes so interesting I said it twice). Pictures have created a good balance and mixture of vocals, structure, pace, and rhythm to piece together this two track wonder.
'Cross, Cross Eyed' is unbelievably catchy and powerful, with all the right hooks and snappy riffs. 'I Can't Touch Him; I Have Electric Hands' doesn't disappoint either with its fast tempo and perfectly placed breaks which contrast extremely well to make this single what it is. The only quibble I have is that the tracks are in my opinion a bit too short, buy hey that's life. All in all a superb single to showcase what Pictures have to offer.
